Corporate Social Irresponsibility

So, I was in Hastings the other night cruising and puruising and I picked up a nice little magazine while I was there. Democracy Journal, I have not had much time to do any research on what side of the line these guys publish or what not, but it really does not matter. The first article I read was rather academic but it got me thinking about Corporate control of government & the public itself.

Corporate Social Irresponsibility is about just what the title implies. The title is short sweet and to point, however the article is not but it goes over quite a lot of material. Particularly CSR- Corporate Social Responisbility, its origins and what it has mutated into; SRI - Socially Responsible Investing, which is a term use to describe what corporations do socially in given areas. A good portion of the article were easy to follow examples of current and not so current events that any read could follow.

The best part of this entire article are the last two subsections in which it gives an analysis on strategic vs. non strategic CSR and a new perspective on CSR and what it should do. You could say the last two sections are gut checks and paradaigms to look at.

Read it here: Corporate Social Irresponsibility
Also the magazine is only $7.00 and I am thinking about a subscription.

Here's to the New Year!!

Alright,
It has been a longtime since I last posted, well long would not be the right word. Basically I could say I did the same thing a certain TX-4th district Congressional Candidate has been doing, absolutely nothing!!! LOL Sorry Glen.

For all those that want to know what is going on in this writers world right now, here is the info.
Got a job at Lowe's Home Improvement Center, everything else is on hold for at least a 6 months to a year if not longer. I was told by a good friend that the Lowe's job was an opportunity from heaven for a young male my age with no family to speak of, lest we forget mom, dad, and baby brother.
So now that I have settled back down into a new job and have time to do what I love to do, which is surf the net and find articles to write about here we go.
